Du Plessis: Patriots ready to show best form

Captain Faf du Plessis believes Sunday's crucial victory over St Lucia Zouks has given St Kitts and Nevis Patriots the confidence they needed to start winning games in this year's Caribbean Premier League.

Patriots lost their two opening fixtures but rebounded to beat Zouks by 58 runs at Warner Park, after producing an electrifying batting performance to get up to 203 for seven, batting first.

"It was important for us to try and get a win [on Sunday]," said South African du Plessis.

"We haven't been playing our best cricket in the first two games so it was good to see that when we play 80 per cent we can do what we did (against the Zouks). That's a great sign of great confidence for the team."

He added: "We had some really good batting. Evin Lewis batted beautifully at the top (of the innings). We knew he's a quality player and would come good, and then some really good partnerships in the middle."

Opener Lewis top-scored with a whirlwind 73 off 36 deliveries to claim Man-of-the-Match honours while Devon Thomas finished the innings well with 48 from 27 balls.
