New anti-doping board members attend orientation session

Contributed Sports Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange greets Hugh Faulkner, vice chairman, Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel during an orientation session hosted by the Ministry of Sport for newly appointed board members of the Independent Anti - Doping Disciplinary Panel and the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal held at the Courtleigh Hotel in New Kingston last friday.

An orientation session for newly appointed board members of the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel and the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal was held at the Courtleigh Hotel in New Kingston last Friday.

In welcoming the members to the panel and tribunal, Sports Minister Olivia Grange expressed her gratitude to them for "accepting the charge to contribute to the continued growth, development and prosperity of our country by serving on the Panel and on the Tribunal respectively."

"This composition of members has a high level of technical skills and competence and so I am anticipating the highest levels of deliberation going forward as you execute your respective duties," Grange said in a release from her ministry.

The newly appointed members of the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel are: Kent Gammon - chairman; Hugh Faulkner - vice chairman; Georgia Gibson Henlin - vice chairman; Dr Japheth Ford;

Dr Donovan Calder; Dr Marjorie Vassell; Dixeth Palmer; Denise Forrest and Heron Dale.

The members of the Anti-Doping Appeal Tribunal are: Justice Karl Harrison - chairman; Justice Marva McIntosh - deputy chairman;

Dr Audley Betton; Dr Kurdell Espinosa; Dr Maria Smith; Steve Bucknor

and Jeremy Taylor.
