Boys' Town is satisfied with the deal for the transfer of Shamar Nicholson to NK Domzale of Slovenia, done on deadline day.

The Jamaica senior national men's team striker Nicholson completed his transfer move last Thursday. Nicholson, 20-year-old, is away with the Reggae Boyz squad for a friendly international game against Canada at the BMO Field in Toronto, tonight.

However, the Inter-national Transfer Clearance (ITC) issued by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Limited to Football Association of Slovenia was granted.

His obligations

A copy of the ITC stated that Nicholson duly fulfilled his obligations towards his former club and the association and was therefore free to pursue sports activities and register with another association affiliated to FIFA.

Boys' Town's technical director Andrew Price told STAR Sports that his club was happy for the opportunity for Nicholson.

"It is a straight transfer, but they are supposed to iron out some personal terms with the player. The deal is guaranteed for one year and could extend based on performance," he said.

"The player is very elated and thankful for the opportunity. He said that he would make the best of the opportunity provided," Price said after he spoke with Nicholson.

"I had taken him under my wings as a player because I believe he has the sort of quality that is more deserving for him to get some exposure overseas," he explained.

"He understands that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Similarly, when he was given the opportunity by coach (Theodore) Whitmore in the national team he grabbed it with both hands. Much the same is expected when he takes on this new opportunity," the long-serving Boys' Town coach added.

"The deal is more important for Shamar because we believe it comes at the right time. Boys' Town will benefit, especially with the sell-on clause in the contract," Price added said.

"We are satisfied with the deal from the club. It is par for the course as he is a young player. The club will be coming to Jamaica next week after Shamar returns home from Canada.

NK Domzale played in the Europa Legaue last season. They were eliminated in the play-off round by French team Marseille.
