Reid after Golden Boot
Arnett Garden's top goalscorer, Fabian Reid, is fully focused on not only winning back-to-back Premier League titles, but also has eyes on the Golden Boot this season.
Reid has scored six times so far this season, trailing the league's leading scorer, Ryan Miller of the University of the West Indies, by one goal.
"I feel great to know that I came back from Trinidad and Tobago, playing at San Juan Jabloteh, and helped Arnett to another title. I had never won the Premier League before so I decided to come home. I won my first title and also earned a national call. That was a part of my dream," 25-year-old Reid told STAR Sports.
"When I was in Trinidad, I was not getting a look-in by the national coach, though I was scoring goals there. Since coming home, things are going well. I am grateful and will continue working hard. I have two caps with the national senior team and one goal against Trinidad, last September," he recounted.
"I have scored six goals so far, and there is more to come. I have decided to win the leading-scorer award this season as well as back-to-back national titles. I told my coach I want to be the leading scorer and he has put me fully in forward now. Last year, I played different positions, so this year, I reasoned with the coach. He has put me in forward now and I am getting the job done," Reid added.
"I am pleased with the team. It has been a long time we have not started this way. First round was not always Arnett's round, we always play better in second and third rounds. Now, we have won the first round and leading with an unbeaten record. We started with a bang, and the plan is to win the league undefeated," he said.
