Younger employee makes me weak in the knees
I am a 41-year-old woman. I do not have children, and I have never been married. I have a good job; I work with a well-known company. I supervise a group of people, including men. I try to be respectful and to treat all my workers well.
However, one of the employees is 32 years old and he is very handsome. And, Pastor, I feel very weak towards this guy.
This has been going on now for more than a year, and my secretary has become suspicious of me because whenever I want him I ask her to call him, and she is always excusing herself from the room.
So I know that she suspects that I love him and just want to see him and chat with him every day. Sometimes, Pastor, I show him a little legs, just to see how he would react.
I don't know what to do because so far he is not showing any interest that way. I am planning to invite him out for dinner. Do you think that would be the appropriate thing to do?
I don't know if he has a girlfriend, I have never asked. I am not advertising myself for a man. I am only interested in this young man. I hope to hear from you.
Some companies have strict rules that forbid employees to have romantic relationship with each other, and there are good reasons for such policy. But others do not.
As I see it, it is not wise to supervise this young man if you have found yourself romantically involved with him. Ask that he be transferred to another department, if it is at all possible.
I would caution you not to allow your emotions to run away with you, so to speak, and not to allow any of the employees to lose respect for you.
If this man comes into your office, you don't have to show him legs to get him interested in you. By showing him legs, you might embarrass him and drive him away.
Perhaps what you can do is to give him occasional gifts like on his birthday, Valentine's Day and Christmas. And you may also consider inviting him to a concert or some special event.
If he accepts your invitation, you may move on from there. But please do not push yourself on this guy. If you do, you may totally lose him.
