Eager to help a needy boy

July 24, 2017

Dear Pastor,

I hope you are doing well by the grace of God. I thank the Lord for his mercy and grace towards me and my family. We are blessed, more than we deserve.

Pastor, I am writing to you to see if you can help me. I called and spoke to you briefly on May 8, 2017, concerning a young boy I met in Ocho Rios while I was in the island. This boy seems to be between the age of 10 and 12 years old. He was at the gas station in the Drax Hall area, and the gas station is beside the Scotchies Jerk establishment. He was there begging money. I asked him why he was not in school and he said he could not go to school because his mother did not have any money to buy pampers for him.

I then noticed that the front of his shorts was wet. He told me that he does not have any penis. He said he was born like that. He pulled the front of his shorts and showed me his condition. Pastor, I almost burst in tears. This young boy has no penis and he kept dribbling urine and that is why he needed the pampers, which he was not wearing at the time. I had this encounter with him, and he told me that that is why his shorts was wet.

I hurriedly gave him a few dollars and went away in shock. When I got back into the car I was riding in and we left the area, my friend asked what was wrong with me because I am not the same person as I was before I went into the store. I told him what I saw. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to get to Clarendon, plus I was too shocked to make any enquires of this young man. Therefore, I did not ask him for any information, no phone number, nothing.

Now I cannot get this young man's plight out of my head or my heart. I would like to help. I would like to know if there is any way this young man can be helped surgically or to help him by supplying the pampers that he needs.

Pastor, I have done several programmes in Jamaica. Please, try and see if you can help me to help this young man. I have three sons and two grandsons and I cannot but think what if it were one of them. Would the Lord send help? I believe he would. Maybe we are the help he is sending for this young man, and I surely do not want to miss the opportunity to help and the blessings that are in store.

May God bless you and give you the strength and the courage and all the other necessities that you need to carry on his work. Again, thank you.

Dear D.C.,

I publish this letter hoping that those who may know this young man will respond by contacting me. You saw this young man at a particular area in St Ann. Perhaps it is in that area he hangs out begging. Therefore, it is likely that people who work in that area might know him and respond.

They can ask the young man to call me or they can call me. If I hear from anyone I will pass on the information to you. My office number is 929-1667 and my cell phone number is 877-1009.
