I have been divorced three times

September 19, 2017

Dear Pastor,

I am 68 years old. I have been reading your column for years. Many times, my colleagues and I discuss the things you write about. I am not a Christian, but most of the things you say, I agree with. I am a father and a grandfather. I have done well, if I may say so myself. I have been married three times. I am not fortunate with women. I have helped many of them.

My last wife told me that I have lost my touch. I am washed up. I don't excite her anymore. I found out that she has a boyfriend. It doesn't bother me. I am not asking her to stay with me. There are other women I can get.

I used to say I will never marry again. I thought when I met this last woman, I would settle down for the rest of my life, but it is not working out. My wife is not denying that she has another man. I am going to leave her with everything I have for herself and the children. As soon as I get a divorce, I will buy myself an apartment. I have enough money to do so.

Thanks for your comments.

Dear R.L.,

You are a fortunate man, but you are not blameless. I don't know if your ex-wives would say if you have some type of fault. But if a man was married and divorced three times, he should examine himself to see whether or not he is to be blamed for the things women accused them of doing.

I could only say to you that you should seek professional help before you become entangled with another woman. I wish you well.
