Having a family is the best investment
The best investment is having a family. I overheard a man who is about 75 years old saying to himself that he is sorry he didn't raise a family. This man is a doctor.
I was 22 years old at the time. This man was too busy 'doctoring'.
There is a man right now who cannot read and write, so he pays others to read and write and sign letters for him. He bought his driver's licence. He does contract work.
He drives a brand-new vehicle, and he is a millionaire. Another man decided that he wanted to have many children. The last time I saw him, he told me that he has 53 children and counting.
Maybe he has more by now; I will have to visit him and ask him again.
Dear initials withheld,
You believe that the best investment is having children. This man who is 75 years old probably came to realise that he made a mistake by not having a family.
I have met many people who do not have children, and the older the get, the more they regret not having them.
You seem to be talking about three different persons. The second person doesn't have any form of education, and he has to rely on people to do everything for him.
I would suggest that such a man go to school and learn to read and write so that he doesn't have to depend on others to do business for him.
How did he receive his driver's licence without being able to read? Having said that, let me quickly add that any man who has over 50 children is crazy and most irresponsible, and that is not a joke. How is he able to support them?
We have a long way to go in Jamaica. Thank God for the men who are using sanctified common sense and the women who are in control of their bodies.
