I was molested, and now I like females

Dear Pastor,

I am a 15-year-old female, and I have been having feelings for other girls in high school. Ever since I got molested as a child, I stared to have feelings for females.

I have many friends who are girls and boys. To me, boys are just for sex and girls are for fun. I can't count how many times I was molested. I stopped counting.

A girl right now at school is flirting with me. I am somewhat losing it.

I regret hearing that you were sexually molested. Evidently, you have kept quiet about it. You should have reported this matter regardless of who was involved.

I am wondering whether the persons who molested you were older women. If you were molested by a man, you are probably saying to yourself that all men are wicked.

Therefore, you will have nothing to do with males. You would rather play around with females. Some girls have taken that position. Whether it was a guy who first molested you or an older woman, you need to receive professional help.

I am therefore suggesting that you talk to someone you can trust and ask them to help you see a therapist. I want you also to know that it is not unusual for teenage girls to struggle with homosexual urges.

Dr Les Parrott says, "somewhere between five and 10 per cent of the population is homosexual, while some estimate that a larger percentage engages in bisexual activity."

Some young people in your age group experiment with homosexuality. Dr Parrott also said, "some adolescents engage in homoerotic activity, such as arousal."

You seem to have engaged in heterosexual behaviour and homosexual behaviour, but you enjoy women more than men. That is why you wrote that boys are just for sex and girls are for fun.

You have to find someone who is trained and who understands the struggles that adolescents go through to help you without condemning you.

Whatever might have happened to you has greatly affected you. Therefore, I will be willing to refer you to see a psychologist. Please call me as soon as possible, and be assured of my prayers.

Pray and ask God to help you. Do not allow yourself to be used by anyone, whether they are male or female.
