In love with a man three times my age

I have been hurt many times in different ways. I am 15 years old and I am in love with someone who is three times my age.

I am a bit worried about this relationship. He loves me and I know that; and I know he wants the best for me, but I am a bit stressed out right now. What should I do?

Dear Anonymous,

It is very unfortunate that a man who is three times your age would have an intimate love affair with you. He should know that according to law, you cannot consent.

A person can only consent when he or she is 16 years old. So, this man that you say loves you, can get himself into trouble if you are willing to report him to the police.

I must ask the question, why is it that you are having a relationship with this man? Is he sending you to school? Is he paying for everything for you? Are your parents unable to support you?

What really is the problem? I hope you would have the courage to end the relationship with this man. You say that you are feeling stressed. I doubt very much that you will ever be happy if you continue in this relationship.

I want you to know that I tried to call you, but I have not been successful in reaching you. What you need now is not a man. You need God in your life and a good education.

Sometimes when young girls write to me about their struggles and I try to encourage them to stick with the books and not to allow men to use them, some of the men get so upset and curse me and even threaten me, but I am not afraid to speak the truth.

I cannot divulge everything that was said to me; therefore, I did not print everything that I was told.

I say to you again, bring an end to this relationship. If you don't, this man may even get you pregnant. You have my prayers, and may the Good Lord bless you.
