Richie Innocent ready for Extravaganza
Dub Poet Richie Innocent is looking forward to his upcoming appearance at G.T. Taylor's Christmas Extravaganza.
This will be the third appearance for the self-styled 'Word Souljah' as a dub poet at the prestigious Christmas night stage show that is held annually at Independence Park in Black River, St Elizabeth.
"I'm very excited about performing at Christmas Extravaganza; I always look forward to this event. This will be my third appearance as a poet at Christmas Extravaganza. My five previous appearances were during the earlier part of my career when I was a deejay," he said.
The former St Elizabeth Technical High Dacosta Cup player plans to deliver an exceptional performance.
"I want the patrons who will be attending this event to know that I have a special performance in store for them. Over the past two years, I've been the only poet on a line-up that is mostly dominated by dancehall acts and they've always shown me a lot of love, and I want to give them a very wonderful show this year," he said.
He has been very busy doing the promotional rounds in support of his single, Hills Mi Deh.
"Over the last few weeks, I've been doing some radio and television appearances to increase the promotion. I have received a very warm reception at all the media houses and the reaction from the public has been magnificent."
