Arii catches Nicki Minaj's ex's eye
Emerging singer/songwriter Arii is already attracting international attention to her fledgling career.
The Cuban-born Jamaica-raised artiste has caught the eye of rapper Safaree, who has expressed an interest in doing a verse on the singer's latest track, Nuh Badda Dan Wi, which already features Suku Ward, Mr Lexx and Chedda.
Safaree Samuels is an American rapper who rose to fame as the hype, man, producer and now former fiancE of hip-hop star Nicki Minaj. Safaree, who has Jamaican roots, also wants to be involved with the production of Arii's EP, set for release later this year.
The singer is also about to release a new single, called Jungle.
Arii said she is excited with the new development.
"I'm just really excited to see how the people take to Arii, and I'm hoping to really bring something new to the table and take my music to another level," said the singer who will be hosting Brand New Machine on Saturday, February 27, on the roof of Club 100, on Hope Road, St Andrew.

Arii was born Arii Lopez in Santiago de Cuba. She moved to Jamaica when she was 19 to pursue a career in music. She met her current label mate, G Kennedy, who introduced her to the Orange Hill Records camp. The label signed her and released her debut EP, She Believed. Arii has also been featured on the popular, weekly entertainment programme, ER, hosted by Anthony Miller.
