Charly Black, Machel Montano shoot video for 'VIP Girl'
Soca icon Machel Montano and top-selling Jamaican entertainer Charly Black are currently in Jamaica shooting the scenes for the video to their single, 'VIP Girl'. The song was released on the Troyton Music label and is already available on iTunes and several other major music platforms.
Charly Blacks told THE STAR that the video's director, Damon Gayle, has a great concept for the video, which will feature "nuff sexy girls".
The idea for the song came to life last year when Montano invited Charly Black to Trinidad for his annual Machel Monday concert.
"It was at Machel Monday that Charly and I had a chance to get to know each other and discussed a future collaboration," Montano told THE STAR.
"Later that year, Charly and his producer, Troyton, came with the idea for VIP Girl, and the song was born."
However, Charly Black said the song took some time to be completed.
"When I returned to Jamaica, I got the rhythm from Troyton, and I came up with something I think the ladies will enjoy. I called him (Montano) and told him and sent him my part, and he liked it," the Jamaican entertainer said.
"He didn't record his part right away, but Troyton keep in constant link with Machel and his manager, and now this is the final production."
Portions of the video will be shot in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, Troyton explained.
"Charly will be the Jamaican represented in this song. Machel Montano is the king of soca, so we are thinking we are going to shoot a part of the video in Jamaica, where Charly Black will represent with his culture, where you will see the hard-core type of dancehall, and then we will do a part of the video in Trinidad to portray the soca scene," he said.
