Omari Banks looks forward to album release
Reggae artiste Omari Banks recently performed at the Moonsplash Music Festival hosted in the Eastern Caribbean in promoting his upcoming album, 'Sunlight'.
The artiste, who received coverage from popular urban station BET TV after his performance at the show last year, pulled out all stops out this year to achieve a similar effect. In an entertaining set, Banks delivered songs like No Point to Prove, Unafraid, System Set, and Naturally.
Omari Banks is also set to embark on a tour of Europe in an attempt to boost sales for the Sunlight album. He also hopes to win new fans along the journey.
"People can expect energy-filled sets littered with a few surprises. My Sunlight is set to be released in spring of this year, so all engines are running right," he said.
Banks' debut album, Move On, was ranked at number four in 2015 on Germany's Rhythm magazine. However, the artiste believes this effort will get better numbers on the charts, especially since he was recently featured on Morgan Heritage's highly successful European tour last year.
"The tour exposed me to a huge audience, and I want to capitalise on that exposure as well as I aim to just do good music and let it speak for itself. Reggae music is doing well internationally on the live music circuit, and I just want to continue putting in the work to take my place among the greats and add more to reggae's rich legacy. This album is positively charged and fused with melody and vibe, which I hope will inspire, enlighten and encourage the awakening of love throughout the world," he said.
The project will be premiered with a live concert April 7 at Notting Hills Arts Club in London, UK. The concert will be hosted by famed BBC host Robbo Ranx.
Following his promotional tour of Europe, the artiste will then set sail for America by Summer 2017.
