Chatta pleads for black men
Dancehall artiste Chatta recently released a hard-hitting single titled Murderah, Lef We Black Man Alone.
The song, which was produced by Chatta and released on her RaggaNational imprint, addresses the treatment of black men by the police in the US and other parts of the world.
"It's a known fact ... black men are more likely to be harassed, maimed, arrested, or meet a violent demise by the hands of the police, than men of other races," said Chatta.
She also added, "It is mortifying to think about what happened to Trayvon Martin and so many others after him in recent times."
Chatta said Murderah, Lef We Black Man Alone and its accompanying music video were released to coincide with Black History Month.
"I want our black men know that we care about them, and we are aware that the problem exists," she said.
