Destra leaves revellers spellbound
Revellers who turned up at the Grizzly Plantation Cove in St Ann for Bacchanal Jamaica's Beach J'Ouvert on Saturday were left spellbound as soca goddess Destra turned in a sexy and commanding performance.
"Destra and Farmer put in a great show, especially Destra," Michael Ammar Jr, director of Bacchanal Jamaica, said.
Destra and Farmer's soca hit, Technically, which speaks about relationships and encourages promiscuity, was among the big hits delivered by the duo. The controversial song had patrons both cracking up with laughter and amused by the boldness of the lyrics.
For Ammar Jr, Saturday's event was just the impetus Bacchanal Jamaica needed as revellers wine towards Road March on Sunday.
"We are fully energised for the rest of the season because of this event. It has been a hard and competitive season and Bacchanal has held its own you have seen the crowd," he said.
It was the first time that Beach J'Ouvert was being staged at the Grizzly Plantation Cove. It was normally held at the James Bond Beach in St Mary.
"The people I have spoken to have said that the venue is fantastic and it was a great decision to relocate. They appreciate the parking and it's hassle free. The venue also keeps the party tight but also gives you enough space if you want to relax," Ammar Jr said.
