Best of the Best banks on Mavado
Dancehall artiste Mavado is set to perform at Best of the Best in Miami, Florida, this year after a lengthy hiatus from the show.
The 11-year-old event is one of Miami's premiere concerts, and is set for Sunday, May 28, at Bayfront Park, downtown Miami.
Mavado who is a one of the most sought after dancehall artistes will return to the Best of the Best stage after four years. The singjay is known for his massive catalogue of hits, including So Special, Gangsta For Life, Give It All To Me featuring Nick Minaj, Money Changer and House Cleaning.
Mavado, who is also booked for Reggae Sumfest, told THE WEEKEND STAR that he will be delivering a unique show. He also revealed that his performance will see him collaborating with his Gully Side band.
"Best of the Best a one a dem concerts I enjoy performing on because of the energy and love the fans give me every time. The vibe is always great and my fans can expect all the hits, old and new," Mavado said.
The event has seen performances from icons like Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Wayne Wonder, Shabba Ranks, Lady Saw and Mr Vegas in the past. The promoters also famously allowed Vybz Kartel to perform via video streaming in 2011. This year they feel Mavado is the right man for the job.
"Mavado is no stranger to Best of the Best, and with a strong dancehall line-up and a strong year for the Gully Gad we knew we needed him to complete the stellar line-up we have," the show's promoter, Jabba, said.
Mavado is set to perform in Gambia for the first time on Saturday, May 13, at the Independence Stadium. With over 20,000 tickets already sold, the promoters are looking forward to creating
