Hitmaker focusing on being an artiste
Kedon 'Hitmaker' Whyte is an established producer with a number of productions under his belt. However, Hitmaker says that in recent times, he has been focusing his efforts on being a recording artiste.
"Being an artiste was always my first choice. Because I'm an artiste who produces myself and dancehall heavyweights, I just stepped back a bit from production [as] that was overshadowing my craft as an artiste," Hitmaker said.
He said that he has been in the studio recording between two and three songs per week as a strategy to "attack the music by force".
"My tracks have been doing tremendous thus far. We drop the first banger, Tun Back Way," he said.
Hitmaker has also released other songs, like Nozzle Up and a soca track called Ben Down.
"I think Tun Back Way and also Ben Down will be hits because the feedback has been crazy. I am an artiste for a while now, and I never ever got this type of feedback, response and buzz, not only in Jamaica, but worldwide," he said.
"The soca track has a vibe and wings of its own, blazing away in the soca world, while Tun Back Way ripping up the airwaves and also the dancehall arena every time it plays in Jamaica or worldwide."
