Last Disciple wants people to ‘rise up’
American reggae singer Last Disciple recently released a new album, titled Rise Up.
"This album covers a multitude of topics such as injustices, truth and rights, the need of man for a woman and gratitude to the Almighty," the artiste explained.
There are 10 tracks on the album as the five songs each have two versions: an original and a dub. Several key players in the production include Rashuan Mcanuff, Nadia Harris Mcanuff, the late Winston 'BoPee' Bowen, Franklin 'Bubbler' Waul and Wormbass.
"Those involved in every aspect of it are experienced top-tier reggae musicians, mixing and recording engineers and I brought my best precepts, ideas and lyrics to the table and grew while creating it as well," said Last Disciple.
The build-up to the album started with the release of the official visuals for the single Morning Dew, which premiered on July 25.
"My goal for this album is for it to be heard far and wide, for people to enjoy and or get something from it or be inspired to speak up, as well as have vinyls to distribute to collectors," the artiste said.
Prior to Rise Up, Last Disciple released the 14-track album Babylon Fall in 2014, and has over the years released a multitude of singles, such as Rasta Is Love, Mama Africa and Babylon. Now, he has more plans in the pipeline.
"I want to tour as soon as things clear up, push this project out there for a while, release the vinyl of this album for collectors as well as more singles," he revealed.
