Semi finalists ready for Top Performa battle
Following victory in round four of Magnum's Top Performa competition this week, Jase has booked his ticket to the semi-final round and is set to face-off with Prince Saj in one of the two semis.
The other will see Tatik and King Calie facing off for the right to compete in the final in the quest to lift the Top Performa Crown.
Tatik said that he is not worried about his competitor, King Calie.
"I don't see him as a threat," said the St Catherine native, who enjoys watching a good episode of Money Heist.
He said that while King Calie is a "good artiste", he has no reason to worry about him.
"I think -- well I don't think -- I know I will be the winner for this competition," said Tatik.
However, King Calie, whose given name is Dwight Gutzmer, is optimistic about his chances.
"I am not nervous about the semi-finals and the competitor. I think he is a very good artiste and he's been doing [music] for quite some time and a few other competitions, so no doubt that he is a well-rounded artiste, but like I said, I spent years preparing for this, so there is no fear," King Calie said.
The Tatik and King Calie showdown takes place next Thursday, while that for Jase and Prince Saj is scheduled for Thursday, November 25.
Prince Saj, a Christian, is backing himself to get the better of Jase, for whom he has respect.
"The other competitor has also made it this far, so that means they have the capability to become the next Top Performa also. But like I said, everyone has their thing to do, and I have my own thing to do... I just have to focus on the mission and execute on the day," he said.
For his part, Jase, who is from St Ann, said he is not focused on his competitor.
"My mind is more focused on writing my song and learning my songs to give a good performance and to deliver them properly, so people can vote for me," he said.
The competition's winner will walk away with $1,000,000 and a music video and song produced by Romeich. The second-place winner will receive $300,000 and a feature on a compilation rhythm from Romeich, while the semi-final runners-up will receive $100,000 each.
