Blazing performances at Top Performa final
Sparks went flying at the Magnum Top Performa final last Thursday evening when King Calie and Prince Saj faced off in a musical battle on the stage.
The final show was a perfect combination of theatrics, blazing performances, and a guest appearance from Ding Dong, who was a co-host on the show. The dancing king ended his set with a lively performance and some advice for the finalists and his thoughts on the show.
"The yute dem deliver, di yute dem chat lyrics, the yute dem a gwaan, and di yute dem chop, me nah lie to unnu. Yuh si this competition now, it's like a gateway for a lot of street yutes to get a foot inside the business when it is so complicated and so hard at times to get in this business. To the finalists, remember the two a unnu are winners already because you are on a platform right now where all of Jamaica are seeing you, and the people across the Caribbean are seeing you. So just use this opportunity to just create a big storm out deh," he remarked.
The contestants delivered and were pumped about their performances. King Calie was confident but admitted that there is always room for growth.
"We are our toughest critics, suh there is always room for improvement, but we gwaan wid wiself, you know what I mean," he said.
Prince Saj was feeling thankful after his performance and says he is charged with strength from God.
"Well first and foremost, I just want to big up Father God, who is the head of my life. I feel extremely well, and all I can say is that I didn't make it here by my own strength. God gimmie di strength. Him fuel me with the energy and everything. Right now all I have to say is to God be the glory," he said.
