Sponge Music drops ‘Globalization’ rhythm
Producer Charles Sponge is anticipating great success with his new rhythm project, the 'Globalization' rhythm.
The first volume of the project, which is dubbed the 'reggae edition', features songs from several top reggae acts, including Capleton, Sizzla, Lutan Fyah and Ikaya.
"I have recorded some of the best reggae artistes in the biz on a dancehall rhythm. Most producers wouldn't do that, but I like to push the envelope," said Sponge.
The Montego Bay, St James-born producer plans to release a dancehall edition of the rhythm later this year.
"I'm currently working on the second volume of the Globalization rhythm. This volume will feature several of the biggest acts in dancehall music, but I'm not dropping any names right now. All I can say is that the fans are in for a big surprise," he said. The Globalization rhythm Volume 1 was released on January 21.
Sponge has produced songs for a plethora of popular artistes, including Mavado, Alkaline, Beenie Man, Gyptian, Ikaya, Bugle, Shaneil Muir, Denyque and Jahmiel.
Last year his label enjoyed tremendous success with the World Press rhythm, which spawned several chart-topping singles, including Mavado's Not Perfect and Alkaline's Real Dawgs.
