King Jazzy loves to boast of his love for all things Jamaican, including "Nutri bun and flour dumpling", which he says were part of his upbringing.

He also developed a love for reggae and dancehall music during his childhood in St Ann and St Mary. The New York-born artiste continues to blend Jamaican sounds with beats from the American club scene on Body Move, his latest song which was released in January. King Jazzy co-produced the single with Motor City Mello, his musical partner.

"I'm always eager to create something new and different or try and recreate something old and classic. My personal culture is a blend and authentic cross-breed, so I'm at home with mixing anything in the pot," said King Jazzy.

The singer spends much of his time between the US and Jamaica. He keeps tabs with the evolving music scene in Jamaica by listening to his 'soldiers' on the ground, who are hip to the fresh trends in dancehall. King Jazzy describes Body Move as a mix of dancehall, Afro-pop and EDM. It is distributed by Electric Sticky, a label he co-owns with Motor City Mello.

King Jazzy, given name Benjamin Lamberti, spent his pre-teens in Jamaica. That's where he discovered the music of his biggest influences including Dennis Brown, Junior Reid, Half Pint and Capleton. Some of his previous songs include Trap Betty Baby, Valentine and Ride In, a collaboration with Ding Dong.
