Samantha Gardner proclaims power of the blood in new album
Gospel singer Samantha Gardner has described her sophomore album, Under Di Blood, as one of her best projects yet.
She said that the project, which will be launched on Tuesday, April 4, is aimed at saving souls and inspiring people.
Under di Blood, a nine-track album, comes approximately seven years after her debut, Miracle, and three years after she emerged triumphant following a shooting incident which could have left her paralysed.
"These songs were all written from personal experiences and I really would like to travel home and abroad to minister these testimonies in songs. We are living in times where persons are faced with many challenges and thoughts of just throwing in the towel may cross their minds but I want them to be encouraged. One of my favourites is Comfort in the Storm, as it speaks about finding peace during your trials," Gardner said.
Under Di Blood features other tracks like It Wasn't Easy, Comprehensive Blood Coverage, Breakthrough and Only You Lord. The singer also sits as songwriter and producer for the album.
The Clarendon-born singer, who hails from Crawle River district, became passionate about singing while attending a Baptist church in the community. She currently calls the United States of America home.
It was in 2019 that Gardner had a near-death experience when she was shot in the neck while sleeping in her apartment in Orlando, Florida. She explained that she was not the target of the attack but was injured during a shoot-out at a home invasion in a neighbouring apartment. Doctors had warned her that if she had removed the bullet, there was a high possibility that she would be paralysed but she relied on her faith and went ahead with the surgery.
That was done successfully and Gardner is showing no signs of paralysis.
"God has given me another chance at life and I am very appreciative, so right now I am just using my ministry to inspire and motivate others," she said.
