Wesrok collaborates with Laa Lee
After the success of his collaboration with dancehall recording artiste Masicka, country-reggae artiste Wesrok is set to release another collaboration, this one with Laa Lee.
This has come as a surprise to several fans who didn't expect this unlikely fusion. The Poor Country Boy singer has been focused on fusing country with reggae and dancehall music in his most recent projects.
Promotional clips from the new single, titled Is There a Party, has been receiving mixed reviews.
"The fusion of genres has always been a touchy topic. Some people like it, while others are sceptical about it, but it's my love for the music that causes me to experiment with it," said Wesrok. "Music is beautiful, and there should be no limitations to creativity." Is There a Party was produced by 360 Global Entertainment and will be released on April 29, along with a music video.
The video for the single was shot and directed by Bloozick Films in Olympic Way, St Andrew. Wesrok shared, "The video was very community-oriented and featured a party vibe in the streets. I wanted to capture the elements of dancehall, while staying true to who I am as an artiste. Ariff of Bloozick was able to capture this the best way possible. Fans can expect a good vibe with a unique delivery."
Wesrok is still on the promotional trail after the release of Try To Hold Me, featuring Masicka, which has racked up over 68,000 views on YouTube.
