Anne Hathaway says she can ‘smell time’

Anne Hathaway has developed “the craziest sense of smell” during her pregnancy.

The Verity star, 43, is currently expecting her third child with her husband Adam Shulman, and she’s revealed that her pregnancy hormones have made her nose extra sensitive.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she explained: “You know, my main symptom during my first pregnancy was fatigue, and that didn’t happen this time. This time, my main symptom was, well, acne. But I had, like, the craziest sense of smell ... . The thing about pregnancy smell is, you smell time.”

Hathaway further explained that she’s able to pick up so many smells, it’s like going back in time.

She said: “You don’t just smell this summer. You smell all of them. A couple [of] other summers. I went back to the ‘80s. Yeah, wow! You went back in time. There were many strikes there. No, and so, you know, on a press tour, it’s amazing. It’s like this Goodfellas experience.”

Hathaway added: “You’re going in and out of, like, hotels and the back ways, but you pass so many garbage bins, and you go through so many kitchens, and then you go into elevators, and you smell every single room service order. “

She also struggles to cope with strongly scented perfumes and colognes as the fragrance makes her feel ill.

“So first trimester, my goal was to not, like, dry heave in public. And now, third trimester, my goal is to not waddle in public. So I feel like that’s a good thing,” she said.

Hathaway admitted that she’s been on “an amazing journey” in 2026 as she released a number of high-profile movies, including Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, The End of Oak Street, and Verity, as well as expanding her family.

Rick Ross charged with battery

(AP): Rapper Rick Ross was arrested in Miami Beach early Thursday and charged with battery related to a domestic violence accusation.

The rapper, whose legal name is William Roberts II, faces a felony charge of battery by strangulation, as well as a misdemeanour battery charge, according to online court records. An attorney for the rapper said in a statement that his client is being wrongfully accused by an ex-girlfriend whose true motivations are unclear.

“The ex did not even file a police report until a month after the claimed incident allegedly took place,” defence attorney Steve Sadow said in the statement. “Mr Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges. He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course.” Rick Ross was released from jail on a cash bond, according to court records. An arraignment is scheduled for October 22.

According to an arrest report, a woman told Miami Beach detectives that she had been living with the rapper on August 28, when he accused her of cheating on him and struck her multiple times. She said he also choked her with the collar of her shirt and slammed her into a wall. The woman said she was eventually able to leave the home and then returned later — after the rapper left — to collect her belongings.

The woman filed a report with police on Tuesday, and Rick Ross surrendered himself at the Miami Beach Police Station on Thursday morning.

He pleaded no contest in 2017 to aggravated assault after he was accused of forcing a man into a guesthouse at his suburban-Atlanta mansion in 2015 and beating him with a handgun, according to Georgia court records. Under a first-offender programme in Georgia, the court issued an order exonerating Rick Ross of guilt on that felony count.

The rapper is a long-time South Florida resident who gained prominence in 2006 with his debut single, Hustlin’.

The rapper and entrepreneur helped put Miami on the musical map in the early 2000s, when most hip-hop fans looked to Atlanta and Houston as Southern rap headquarters. Hustlin’ was certified platinum twice by the Recording Industry Association of America and sparked a bidding war for his signature. He eventually signed with Def Jam Records, headed by Jay-Z. Rick Ross’ debut album, Port of Miami, also went platinum, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2008, he founded the influential label Maybach Music Group, boosting the careers of artistes like Wale, Meek Mill and French Montana.
