Wild West shooting leaves children injured

Two schoolchildren narrowly escaped death in Westmoreland after they were grazed by bullets which were fired by thugs riding on a motor bike.

One of the children was grazed on the head by a bullet, while the other was grazed by a bullet on the right arm.

According to the Constabulary Communications Unit, men travelling on a motor bike in the Ricketts Street area of Savanna-la-mar opened fire at two men who were travelling on another bike.

The bullets missed their intended targets and nearly took out the youngsters. The police said the youngsters were treated at hospital and released.

The incident happened about 1:15 p.m.
