More than 1,200 rounds of ammunition seized in Montego Bay
Lawmen have seized more than 1,200 rounds of 9mm ammunition during back-to-back searches at a premises in Montego Bay, St James.
The seizures were made over a 24-hour period between Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1, by members of the National Strategic Anti-Gang Division (NSAD).
According to the police, an NSAD team conducted a search warrant at the premises on Monday, resulting in the seizure of 644 rounds of 9mm cartridges.
But the operation did not end there.
The team returned to the same location the following day, this time with assistance from members of the Canine Division.
Another search was conducted, leading to the discovery of an additional 620 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
The two seizures amounted to 1,264 rounds of ammunition.
Despite the massive ammunition find, no arrests were made in connection with the discovery.
The police said investigations are continuing.
