‘Mad Dog’ killed in St Andrew shooting, residents protest

A man known only by his alias “Mad Dog” was shot and killed near Karl Samuda Avenue in St Andrew this morning, triggering an angry protest by residents in the area.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting have not yet been ascertained.

Following the incident, residents reportedly took to sections of Red Hills Road, where they staged a fiery protest.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the incident.

The latest killing comes amid growing scrutiny of fatal shootings involving members of the security forces.

As of September 13, some 215 people had been killed by security forces in alleged confrontations, according to the information provided.
