Emerging reggae artiste Ramia is introducing himself to the world with the release of ‘Introducing Ramia’, a 12-track project that blends roots reggae, spirituality and uplifting messages aimed at inspiring listeners through life’s challenges.

Born and raised in the rural community of Wakefield, Trelawny, the singer, whose given name is Ramia Coleman, says the project reflects the values and experiences that have shaped his journey.

Released on October 16, the album showcases an artiste determined to create meaningful music that extends beyond entertainment.

The project was executive-produced by Rowen Johnson and produced by Johnson alongside veteran Jamaican musician and producer Clive Hunt for Love Injection Production.

For Ramia, music has always been closely tied to faith, family and purpose. Growing up in Wakefield, he was exposed to reggae from an early age through his father, a Rastafarian musician who introduced him to the music of icons such as Peter Tosh and Dennis Brown, the latter remaining one of his greatest influences.

At the same time, church life played a major role in his upbringing. Weekly worship services, gospel music and the influence of family members helped shape the positive and spiritually driven messages now found throughout his music.

“I want to make purposeful, reverent music ... music that is potent enough to transform lives and to give people courage and strength to go through the day,” Ramia explained.

That philosophy is evident throughout Introducing Ramia, which features tracks including Coast to Coast, Order My Steps, Got Me Hooked, If You Believe, Hallelujah, Brimstone, Cover Me, Jump, Mr Gun Man, Trod On, Make a Change and Ruler of My Destiny.

The collection explores themes of faith, perseverance, love, social awareness and personal growth, reflecting the conscious approach Ramia hopes will define his artistry.

Backing the project is an accomplished team of Jamaican musicians, including Kirk Bennett, Robbie Lyn, Lamont ‘Monty’ Savory, Clive Hunt and saxophonist O’Shane Love.

The album was recorded at Mixing Lab Recording Studio and JAW Records in Kingston, mixed by Colin ‘Bulby’ York and Hasani ‘Snysh’ Williams, and mastered in London at Sound Exchange.

While Ramia has ambitions of reaching listeners across international markets, he is equally passionate about connecting with audiences in Jamaica and contributing to reggae’s continued growth.

“Life is a gift. It’s not a gift only if you’re rich or only if you’re smart or only if your goals are all fully accomplished. It’s a gift every day that you wake up,” he said.

Ultimately, Ramia hopes his music leaves listeners feeling inspired, encouraged and grateful for life.

“It’s like a warm hug in a cold winter. That’s how I want my music to feel,” he shared.
