Waterhouse saved; Cavalier, Rivoli go down

Humble Lion grabbed the final semi-final spot in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) following a 2-0 win against Rivoli United at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon yesterday. Levaughn 'Country' Williams scored a brace for the winners in the 13th and 78th minutes.

The Vassell Reynolds coached team cemented the play-off spot on 50 points just one ahead of new boys, the University of the West Indies (UWI) FC. Promoted Portmore United ended on 61 points, ahead of Arnett Gardens (60) and Montego Bay United (59) as the teams that will battle for the title in the play-offs.

At the other end of the 12-team table, Cavalier SC finished in 12th spot on 33 points, the same as Rivoli United which means that both teams are relegated to their respective parish leagues next season.

Waterhouse started the day in last position but moved to safety on 34 points following a 3-0 win against Boys Town at Waterhouse Stadium.

The two-way semi-finals will feature Portmore United against Humble Lion and Arnett against Montego Bay United, The winners on aggregate will move on to the final.
