SFP six-a-side begins tomorrow
Having cemented her name in the history books as one of the greatest female sprinters of all time, two-time 100m Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will now focus on one of her many off-season community outreach programmes tomorrow.
The fourth annual SFP Six-A-Side Football Competition that welcomes at-risk youth in the Waterhouse and surrounding communities to participate in a fun and competitive football league to win cash and prizes.
The league will have its official opening tomorrow at 3 p.m., with the dress parade to be followed by two matches: defending champions Eurotrend playing 2014 champion Darkside at 4 p.m., and a promotional game, Rasta versus Baldhead, featuring entertainers, sponsors, journalists and footballers starting at 5 pm.
The competition will comprise 20 teams divided into five zones, with four teams each. Teams will play each other once in a round-robin format with the winner of the five zones, and the three best second-placed teams advancing to the next knockout round.
The final is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 12.
