Queen's, Gaynstead in netball semis
FORMER champions, the Queen's School and defending champions Gaynstead High have topped their groups and booked their spots in the semi-finals of the ISSA urban schoolgirls junior netball competition.
Queen's took Group One honours after winning all five matches to end on 15 points. Norman Manley look set to join Queen's from the group as they are in a clear second place with 10 points from their completed five games.
Gaynstead clinched top spot in Group II with four wins from five matches. Camperdown appear set to accompany Gaynstead from the group as with one match to go they are on nine points after winning three of four matches.
Persistent afternoon has affected the senior schedule. Defending champions Camperdown, Queen's, Gaynstead and Excelsior look the likely semi-finalists. All matches are set to be completed next week. .
In Group Two, both Camperdown and Gaynstead are unbeaten and are set to meet in a rescheduled mat to decide the group winners.
Former champions Queen's and a resurgent Excelsior will meet in a high powered match to decide Group One winners. Both teams have scored two impressive wins in their two matches so far.
The rescheduled matches will be played next Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
