Jamaica's Sunshine Girls recorded a 66-49 victory over rivals England in the opening match in the Vitality International three-Test Series at London's Copper Box Arena yesterday.
The English Roses dominated the opening period to take a 16-12 at lead at the end of the first quarter.
However, the Sunshine Girls rallied strongly in the second period as they outscored England 19-11 for a 31-27 at half time.
A dominant third quarter from the Sunshine Girls saw them extend their advantage to seven points, leaving England with an uphill task to turn the game around going into the fourth quarter.
The Minneth Reynolds-coached Jamaicans led 49-42 at the end of the quarter.
The Sunshine Girls, who are ranked fourth in the world, one place below England, outplayed their opponents in the final quarter to come away with an easy victory.
Ace shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid was named player of the match, while centre Paula Thompson was also heavily influential in the outcome.
The second match in the series will be played at Manchester's Belle Vue Arena on Friday.
