I have problems losing weight

June 15, 2016

Dear Pastor,

I am a 20-year-old female. My weight is bothering me. Every time I try to lose weight, I fail. I weigh 247 pounds and hate how I look, especially when I remember how slim I was a few years ago. Last year I weighed 220 pounds. I lost 17 pounds then. I had an anxiety attack and gained it all back.

I am fed up with my weight. I try to eat right and exercise. I don't know what else to do.

Someone told me to try apple-cider vinegar to help boost my weight loss. I am doing so. I am a god-fearing girl. If I don't pray one day, I don't feel good. I love God so much and try to live right. Please pray for me to overcome obesity and to have good health. Pastor, I await to hearing from you.

Dear S.P.,

You did not gain your weight over-night and will not lose all you have gained overnight. It is going to take time.

You are going to hear about all the quick-fix weight-loss programmes. Ignore them. Let your doctor put you on a programme that will help you to reduce your weight gradually.

There is a doctor who has a programme on Power 106 FM on Friday nights. I suggest you call him. He will tell you the truth and will do his best to help you.

If you do not get to speak to him on his radio programme, call him during the week. His name is Dr Vandryes. He operates the Vandryes Wellness Centre. His number is 927-8871.

He could also help you deal with your anxiety problem. He is a good doctor. He is never in a hurry. He would listen to you.
