My woman left me because I went to prison

June 30, 2016

Dear Pastor,

I am a 40-year-old male from the United States and I enjoy reading your column in THE STAR. I must say that I am going through some things with my ex-girlfriend. I am now incarcerated doing a five-year sentence. I will get out on September 29, 2016. She left me for another man when I got locked up.

I can honestly say that I really loved her. We were together for over 10 years and I have really been trying to get back with her, but she tells me that she is in love with her new man. I don't know what to do. I would like to know if you can find me a God-fearing woman that I can write to and maybe become friends or maybe move on with and build a relationship.

My mom is from the United States and my father is from Jamaica. I really would like to visit Jamaica one day. I don't care about her size, looks or weight. As long as she is over 21 years old and has a beautiful heart and soul. Thank you, Pastor. God bless you.

Dear T.M.,

Why haven't you given the reason for your incarceration? It must have been something very bad that caused your girlfriend to end the relationship with you. She could not deal with you not being around for five years. I don't think you should be upset with her for making the decision to end the relationship.

I am going to thank you for reading THE STAR, and I wish you well in finding another woman. However, it would be easier for you if you had said more about yourself, like why you are in prison and what is your profession, if you have any. How would you support a woman, etc? I do not believe that you are speaking the truth when you say that it does not matter the type of woman. If you do not care if the woman is pretty, fat, slim, etc., you are not serious about having a meaningful relationship.

If anyone is interested in you, I will let you know, especially considering that you will be out of prison in a few months.
