I took another man's child as mine

July 05, 2016

Dear Pastor,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus. I am a 20-year-old male. I am living with my girlfriend. She is 23 and has a baby girl. The father and herself are not together.

I used to be a gardener, working next door to her. I always admired her. Her boyfriend wasn't treating her well so she left him. He stopped giving her money for the child. We became friends and I got a job as a security guard. I started supporting the child. I tell my friends the child is mine, but that is not true.

She started to go to church and invited me. We are Christians and she wants us to get married. My family said I should give myself some more time before getting married.

We would like to get married by December and want you to officiate for us. Please don't turn us down.

P. K.

Dear P.K.

I would be glad to officiate at your wedding. However, you should not ignore the advice of your relatives. Perhaps you do need to know this woman better.

On the other hand, if you feel you are ready and find that you are burning with passion, it is better to get married.

Contact my office and make an appointment to see me. I am glad you got a better job. I hope your lady will seek a job, too, if she is not working.
