I found condoms in my husband's car

October 14, 2016

Dear Pastor,

I am 25 years old and my husband is 34. My husband and I have been married for two years.

I had one child before we were married. She is living with us. My husband thinks that we should have another child. I am not against that. My daughter is four years old.

I did not know that my husband was cheating. I had to convince myself that it was real when I saw condoms in the car.

He has his own car and I have mine. I wanted some money and he told me to go into his car and to take up his wallet. I asked him why would he leave his wallet in his car, but he didn't answer.

When I went in the car, I saw condoms. I was shocked. My husband has not been able to give me a good reason for having condoms in his car.

My husband and I don't have arguments. He is a good provider, a good lover, and a good father to my child. I told him that we should go for counselling, but he is not interested.

A few nights ago, he tried to have sex with me and I raised the matter, and when I asked him about the condoms, he asked, "What are condoms for?" Pastor, I don't want my marriage to break up, but I am scared.

Dear R.R.,

You know what your husband has done. Very often when women find condoms in the pockets of their men and they query the matter, and the men start to lie. Some deny that the condoms are theirs.

Your husband did not deny anything. He asked you, "What are condoms for?". You have got the message. He doesn't want to go for counselling, so you have to decide what you want to do.

My suggestion is that now that you know what he has done, that you do not force him to talk, but you try and coax him and assure him that you have forgiven him.

Remember, you do not want to do anything that will totally turn him off from you and find the woman with whom he was having the affair.

You might even suggest that you know for sure that he was having an affair. You should tell him that he should use a condom with you.
