Man takes away my woman because I am in prison

Dear Pastor,

I am incarcerated, but I will be out in a year. I am heartbroken because I have two children with a woman. I took this woman as my queen. She is beautiful. I got mixed up with the wrong crowd and have ended up here in prison.

I got to understand that she has another man. I asked her about it and she has admitted it. She said she did not want to get involved, but sometimes she was lonely. And although my brother and sisters take her out sometimes, that was not enough. She wanted more than that.

I am so angry; I feel I could tear this man apart for taking over my woman. I don't want my children to grow up with a stepfather. I grew up under a stepfather and he used to abuse me. He used to abuse all of us, and my mother had to divorce him. My children's mother is telling me that we don't have to live like enemies when I get out of prison, but the relationship will not be the same because of the other guy, as they are planning to get married.

When I am out of prison, I would like to be a preacher. I have learned my lesson. Prison is not a good place for anybody to be. I never wanted another man to mess with my queen. I hope that this woman would give me my children when I am out of prison.

Pastor, your column helps a lot of us who are in prison. We respect you. Keep up the good work and pray that my children will not go astray and that I will find a good woman.

P.U.

Dear P.U.,

You need not fret because very soon you would be out of prison. I am sure that you have learned valuable lessons while you are in prison. You say that you want to be a preacher, so I suggest that while you are in prison, you use some of your time to study. I am sure you can ask the chaplin of the prison to give you some guidance as to which school offers external courses, so that you can study while you are incarcerated. Many schools offer three-to-four years programmes after which they will give you a bachelor's degree.

In today's world, preachers have to specialise to get a good job. Therefore, I would suggest that after you have done general theological courses, you specialise in either Old Testament or New Testament, or prophecy or counselling. Counselling courses are very expensive, but they will help to make your ministry very rich and you will make a good contribution to society.

You will get yourself a good woman, so leave your children's mother alone. Everything is going to work out well for you. I am sure that you are in touch with your children. Write them and call them often. Don't ever ignore them.

Pastor
