A village will DNA test dog poop to track down irresponsible owners.
Alresford Council in Essex has decided to take action against lazy dog-walkers who refuse to pick up foul waste left behind by their pets, by carrying out forensic testing on selected samples. In the same way that criminals are tracked down through keeping DNA records, animals will be swabbed and the results matched with poo samples taken from public areas.
A mother has knitted a life-size model of her son. Marieke Voorluijs, from the Netherlands, spent two months making a replica of her beloved little boy to cuddle after he hit puberty and refused to show her affection anymore.
The giant doll, made completely of wool, sports a baseball cap, oversize watch and has headphones around his neck. Writing on Bored Panda, she said: "My son is reaching puberty. We used to cuddle all the time, but those days are becoming scarce. Now he'd rather hang with friends, play with his phone and listen to his iPod." Marieke, who knits other items for her brand Club Geluk, decided to make the life-size doll to help other "smother mothers" who feel neglected by their grown-up children.
A woman found the world's second most venomous snake hiding under her fridge.
An animal handler was forced to capture the reptile with his bare hands after the frightened lady discovered the slithery creature under the kitchen unit at her home in Adelaide. The woman only noticed the snake when she went to the fridge to grab a glass of wine and saw a head poking out.
A New York Uber driver refused to rush a pregnant woman to hospital but charged her anyway.
According to website Fortune, the driver told David Lee and his partner he wouldn't take them to hospital because she was being sick on the street. The mother said: "I don't blame Uber for one driver's poor actions, since bad apples can appear in any organisation, but I do think that when a
company has a culture of bullying their way past laws and regulations, as Uber seems to do, they begin to think they can act with impunity in anything."
The couple did their best to persuade the driver and even offered to pay for the bill if he had to clear up any mess made in the taxi. However, he turned them away but still charged them $13.
