Dancehall heavyweight Masicka is set to bring one of the biggest entertainment events of the year to Portmore when his Forever1NE Music Festival takes over Caymanas Park on December 19.

The event will mark the first time the entertainer is headlining his own music festival in Portmore, the city that played a major role in shaping his career and identity.

“Portmore is home, so being able to touch the stage here and bring Forever 1NE to the people means a lot,” said Masicka. “

The Forever1NE Music Festival is promoted by Masicka and his 1Syde team, in partnership with Zimi Entertainment, and backed by title sponsor Magnum. The festival promises a massive night of music, with organisers hinting that more details about the line-up and overall festival experience will be revealed in the coming weeks.

For Masicka, the event is more than another concert. It represents a return to his roots and a celebration of the community that has remained closely connected to his journey in music.

“After everything that happened this year, it feels right to celebrate this moment at home. Patrons can expect big performances, surprises and energy from start to finish,” he said.

Meanwhile, Executive Chairman of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), Solomon Sharpe, said the venue is honoured to host what is expected to be a major homecoming event for one of dancehall’s biggest stars.

“Masicka is coming home to Portmore, and Caymanas Park is proud to be the place that welcomes him,” Sharpe said.

The staging of the Forever1NE Music Festival is another major coup for Caymanas Park, which has increasingly established itself as a leading destination for large-scale entertainment events. In recent months, the venue has hosted everything from the fashionable Zimi Seh Brunch and the prestigious Mouttet Mile to major World Cup watch parties under the JustBet Goal Rush campaign, while continuing to stage championship horse-racing events.

The festival also comes at a time when promoters are facing a shrinking number of large entertainment venues in the Corporate Area.

Independence Park Limited (IPL) General Manager Major Desmond Brown recently disclosed that Mas Camp and the wider Stadium Car Park will no longer be available for major shows after Carnival 2027, because redevelopment work is scheduled to begin.

With few venues capable of accommodating major productions, Caymanas Park has emerged as one of the most viable options for large concerts and festivals.

Sharpe said the venue was built for events of this scale.

“Caymanas Park was built to handle moments like this,” said Sharpe. “We have the grounds, the infrastructure and the experience to stage a world-class festival for thousands of patrons, and to do it safely and seamlessly. This is exactly the kind of era-defining entertainment we envisioned when we set out to transform Caymanas Park into Jamaica’s premier destination.”

Sharpe said hosting one of dancehall’s biggest stars for a major homecoming event highlights Caymanas Park’s growing role beyond horse racing.

“This is what we mean when we say Caymanas Park is for everybody. Today it’s dancehall and tomorrow it could be football, fashion or family entertainment. That versatility is our greatest strength,” he said.
