Recording artiste and entrepreneur J’Aren is preparing to launch the Must Get Rich Campaign, an initiative designed to encourage tertiary students to think strategically about their future careers, develop entrepreneurial ideas, and gain the confidence needed to turn their dreams into reality.

“I decided to host this competition to empower university students, bolster their confidence, and help them develop a sense of direction towards success,” J’Aren said.

“Having a great idea is an important first step, but young people also need confidence, planning and support to turn those ideas into something tangible,” he continued.

The campaign is closely tied to J’Aren’s latest single, Must Get Rich, a song built around themes of ambition, perseverance and self-belief. Rather than limiting that message to music, however, the artiste hopes to create real-world opportunities for young people preparing to enter the professional world.

A seasoned entrepreneur with a background in marketing and promotions, J’Aren has spent years building brands and engaging audiences. Those experiences have helped shape his approach to both business and music, earning him recognition as an artiste who understands the importance of balancing creativity with strategy.

The 35-year-old, who hails from Jones Town, Kingston 12, attended Jones Town Primary School and later spent several months at Trench Town High School before migrating to the United States. Now based in Florida in the USA, he remains committed to giving back to Jamaican youth and helping them pursue opportunities with purpose.

Targeting final-year college and university students, the initiative, set to launch on November 1, is aimed at challenging participants to transform a vision into a realistic business proposal.

“This initiative represents an opportunity to transform the motivational message behind the music into practical support for young people at a pivotal stage in their academic and professional journeys,” he said. “By encouraging students — especially those about to begin the professional journey — to articulate their ideas, prepare business plans and pitch, the challenge aims to help participants strengthen their entrepreneurial thinking and presentation skills.”

To enter, students must submit a proposal outlining their business or project idea, marketing strategy, business plan and one-year financial forecast.

Five finalists will then be selected to present their ideas before a panel of judges. The winning participant will receive a US$500 grant.
