Serial cheater demands DNA test - Mother insists he must step up regardless of results
For four years, Betty* has watched in agony as her daughter longs for the love of a man she calls ‘Daddy’— but who refuses to acknowledge her as his own.
While Frank* showers affection on his other children, Betty’s precious little girl is left to witness the cruel contrast, her heart shattering each time she sees the difference in treatment.
Betty and Frank were together for three years, but his infidelity was relentless — countless affairs, some with women from their very own community.
“A whole heap a bun him gi mi. Him sleep wid all kinda woman, even people weh mi know, and mek people did a laugh offa mi!” she recalled, the humiliation still fresh.
Hurt by the pain and constant betrayal, Betty decided that she, too, could play the infidelity. And so, she gave Frank a serving of ‘bun’.
“Mi never really plan it. The guy did just like mi, and [it happened] one night mi did just feel really sad after mi find out seh him (Frank) did deh wid a next woman,” she admitted.
A month later, Betty discovered she was pregnant and, despite their past, both she and Frank were excited about the baby. But, weeks later, Frank dropped a bombshell; he had got another woman from their community pregnant.
“When him tell mi, mi head just chip!” Betty said.
“So mi tell him di truth seh mi did have sex wid somebody else, and him cuss and gwan bad. But mi never care, because him did unfair. A years him a cheat pan mi, and mi only slip up one time,” she said.
Frank, however, saw things differently.
“Mi nah mine no other man pickney,” he declared. “Suh, as much as mi wrong, a she guh have sex without protection. Suh how mi fi know di child is mine?”
Despite his doubts, Betty remained firm in her belief that Frank was the father. So, after giving birth overseas, she placed his name on her child’s birth certificate. However, Frank plays no role in Betty’s daughter’s life, giving no financial assistance, love, or fatherly presence. Yet, he is fully involved in raising the child he had with Betty’s neighbour, born just two months later.
“Mi tell mi daughter seh him a her father, and every time she see how him treat the other little girl, it hurt har,” Betty shared. “Sometimes she even cry.”
Both Frank and Betty have turned to DNA Detective, a collaboration between THE WEEKEND STAR and DNA testing company Polygenics Consulting, to uncover the truth about the child’s paternity.
Betty is hoping that the test will show that Frank is the father of her child.
“Even if him is not the father, after everything weh him put mi through, him should still be there for her,” she said.
Frank, however, remains unmoved.
“Mi just want di truth. If she a mine, mi a guh step up and take care of her. But mi naah mek nobody trick mi,” he insisted.
The highly anticipated results will be unveiled in next weekend’s explosive edition of THE WEEKEND STAR.
