My friend is carrying on with a married man
Dear Pastor,
I am a 20-year-old virgin attending college. Some of my friends who were in high school with me are also in college.
Some of them have got boyfriends who they date. One of them who went out on a date did not get back until the following day. She told us that she got more than she bargained for; the man was twice her age. He did not just have sex with her, but he offered her plenty of money. She said she was still feeling pains.
This man now picks her up every weekend. He lives alone. He told her that she could invite some of her friends to come to the house. Only one other friend of mine has gone. I refuse to go. I ask my friend how we can be sure that this man is not looking for them to do a threesome. But he has not introduced that to them. Our friend loves this man because of the amount of money she can get out of him. She is always bragging about this man, telling us where he took her and what they did together. She said life is short, so she is enjoying herself, and we can continue to behave as if we are old.
This man is married, but his wife is living in America, so our friend does not have anything to fear. She used to be a good girl, but now she has changed. Some of my friends don’t even want her to sit with us. We told her that she may get into trouble. But she said she will not. She even told one of the girls to mind her own business and leave her alone. At least three of us have not gone out on dates because some of these guys are like sharks, and the moment you go out with them, they are asking you for flesh.

Dear C.,
In Jamaica, people use the term ‘bruk out’. Well, this girl that you are talking about has bruk out.
She has put aside good morals and is now living it up, so to speak. If she is not careful, she may end up pregnant, and then the man is likely to say that he did not get her pregnant. Men use women like that all the time and eventually walk away from them. You and your girlfriends should keep away from this man’s house.
Concentrate on your college work. You can’t go wrong if you do. Men are not running away. Good men are hard to get, but so are good women. The time will come when you will find a good man. Both of you will learn to honour and take care of each other. That is all I wish to tell you at this time. I wish you well.
Pastor
