M-Gee stirs up controversy on new single
Philadelphia-based artiste M-Gee looks at some of the most controversial topics in dancehall in his latest track.
The single, titled Like Seriously, touches on topics such as the commercialised use of body enhancement surgeries, relationships between stars in the music business and other trending topics. But he insists that the song is just for fun.
"This single was designed to entertain through the use of controversy and, as such, it's simply for entertainment purposes and nothing personal. I wanted to give the fans a song that would fit in with everything that's happening now and so far it's been making rounds all over social media and radio," said M-Gee. The artiste did not appear overly concerned about possible backlash from some fans.
"People share their opinions every day and the views being expressed are my opinion and the opinions of thousands of others on social media. So I am not worried about who may feel offended," he said. "In the song, everything is hearsay, therefore it's only for the thrill of entertaining the crowd. There are some who take the track too personal and see it as a jab to their favourite artistes but I am having fun and my real fans are having fun promoting the single with me"
With Like Seriously building momentum, M-Gee has decided to shoot the visuals for the track. The artiste also shared that his single Rich and nah talk, a collaboration with Chronic Law, has also been doing well, amassing thousands of views across streaming platforms.
