‘Wake Up’ is a call for peace
Reggae artistes Turbulence and Loyal Flames have joined forces to deliver a message for world peace.
The song, titled Wake Up, which is produced by Blak Karpet Productions, was released in December. It calls for people to wake up to the reality of the injustices, crime and violence plaguing the world, while calling for action and offering ways on how these issues can be tackled.
Producer Blak Karpet said the collaboration between both artistes came naturally.
"Our label is about promoting positive music. The collaboration just came naturally on spot. The rhythm was played and both artistes just came up with the lyrics of the song right away," said the producer. "It was a pleasure working with both artistes, because they are very humble and they understand music to the core."
This is not the first time that Turbulence has worked with Blak Karpet. They previously collaborated on We Need Love, a song which was featured on the label's 2020 'Raggy Road' rhythm.
"We have a love for music and we just want to give [artistes] that have been neglected a voice and an opportunity to showcase their work. We have some great music in store for 2024, so just stay tuned," said the producer.
The label has also worked with artistes such as Lutan Fyah, Sizzla, Capleton, I Wayne, Norris Man, Natty King and Chezidek.
