Gospel artiste confident in God’s promises
Educator and gospel minister Nicholet Brown-Lee is upbeat about her latest single, ‘Just like You Said’.
Released last Friday, she said the song was written during one of the toughest periods of her life. It was then that she received divine assurance that God will always stand with His promises. She said the song comes from Psalm 23, and the message behind it is to let somebody know that now is the time to hang on to the word of God.
“He just cannot lie, so if He says something, He is going to do it, and is the time to say ‘though I am walking through a valley’. It is not the final destination, because God says He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies,” she said.
Produced by Paul B Barclay, Brown-Lee said she is hoping that the song will resonate with listeners from all walks of life, while gaining international recognition.
“I want the single to resonate among people who for some time are not really standing on the promises of God. It is for those who are going through some rough times and wondering if God is really going to come through. But God is waiting on you to walk this thing out. I want this song to hit globally, and if you listen it, you will realise that it can resonate with modern contemporary as well as persons who lean towards traditional gospel,” she said.
Brown-Lee spent her earlier years in Point Hill, St Catherine, and said she was recognised for her musical gift from the age of nine. Through preaching, music and podcasts mentorship, the singer said she encourages persons to look towards Jesus Christ to overcome limitations and embrace purpose. Among the tracks are Total Surrender, Glory Rain Reign, and Great and Mighty God.
Passionate about education and leadership, Brown-Lee is currently the acting principal of St Faith’s Primary School in St Catherine.
